On Saturday, January 10th at 9:00am to 12:00 p.m, AYLUS Roslyn Branch helped by volunteering with NOSH Delivers, located at 15 Hill Street, Glen Cove, N.Y. NOSH delivers is an accessible nonprofit food pantry, established in March of 2020. This is an organization which helps provide food for local families that struggle with buying their own groceries to homes in need.
When we arrived at NOSH, we started off by preparing NOSH bags for the children with lunch supplies including ramen and chips and moving them onto the shelves. At the same time, another group was helping incoming shoppers get what they wanted off the shelf and ensuring the correct quantities were obtained. We continuously decorated bags and filled them with food for the kids, while other group started packing delivery bags with foods such as rice and beans to houses around the street. Later some customers came in and got their necessities, we got an inbox of supply that we helped
the manager bring in. We received food like cereal, milk, and chips that we later brought upstairs. Overall, we had a great time helping the shoppers in need and would love to come back again.
