On December 24, 2024, members of the Newtown AYLUS Chapter volunteered at Doylestown Hospital to assist with patient transportation. During this one-hour event, volunteers helped transport patients using hospital beds and wheelchairs to essential areas such as X-ray, the emergency department, and other key hospital units. Volunteers also assisted with moving patients from room to room and escorting patients to discharge when needed.
Throughout the event, volunteers focused on patient safety, efficiency, and clear communication with hospital staff. This support helped ensure that patients reached their destinations on time for procedures and appointments, contributing to smoother hospital operations.
This experience gave volunteers insight into the importance of teamwork and reliability in a medical setting while allowing them to directly support patients and healthcare professionals. The Newtown Doylestown Hospital Transport event reinforced the chapter’s commitment to serving the community in meaningful and practical ways.
Volunteers: Eric Chen (Event Leader), and Aaron Temmer. Each volunteered contributed 3 hours of their time.
