On December 10th, Newtown AYLUS members volunteered at Doylestown Health Hospital assisting with patient transport. Volunteers helped escort patients to and from different departments, ensuring they arrived safely and on time for appointments.
During the event, volunteers supported hospital staff by guiding patients through hallways, offering wheelchair assistance, and providing reassurance to those who were nervous or unfamiliar with the hospital layout. This assistance helped improve patient flow and reduced the workload on medical staff.
This transport volunteer event allowed Newtown AYLUS members to contribute directly to patient care while gaining exposure to a clinical environment. The experience emphasized the importance of efficiency, communication, and compassion in a hospital setting.
Volunteers: Eric Chen (Event Leader), and Aaron Temmer. Each volunteer participated for 3 hours.
