Event 97: Stocking Smiles in Action: AYLUS Morris Branch Partners with the Local Library in December 2025

The AYLUS Morris Branch partnered with the local library to support a Stocking Smiles donation initiative, bringing joy and encouragement to children in the community. Through outreach within nearby neighborhoods, members actively collected a total of 42 donated items, including art sets, reading book bags, crayons, children’s cups, and a variety of age-appropriate toys. Each donation was carefully selected to promote creativity, learning, and happiness for young recipients. After the collection phase, AYLUS members gathered to thoroughly check, sort, and organize all items to ensure they were in excellent condition and suitable for distribution. Attention to detail and teamwork played an important role in preparing the donations, reflecting the group’s commitment to quality and care in community service.

On December 13 at 2:00 PM, members delivered all 42 items to the Chatham Library donation site, where the contributions will be used as part of the library’s Stocking Smiles program. Library staff expressed appreciation for the thoughtful donations and the students’ dedication to supporting local families. This initiative not only strengthened the partnership between AYLUS Morris Branch and the local library, but also highlighted the impact that youth-led service projects can have at the community level. By engaging neighbors, organizing donations responsibly, and delivering them with care, AYLUS members demonstrated leadership, compassion, and a strong sense of civic responsibility. The Stocking Smiles project served as a meaningful reminder that even small acts of kindness—such as a book bag or art set—can help create moments of joy and inspiration for children during the holiday season.
