On November 23rd, 2025, volunteers from the AYLUS Roslyn branch served as TAs at the Chinese Cultural Association of Long Island from 1:30 to 5:00 p.m. Throughout this time, they assisted both teachers and students with numerous school events, making a meaningful impact on the Roslyn community.
Our main goal, as teacher assistants, was to help the teachers create an encouraging learning environment for the students. Upon arriving this afternoon, we took a group photo for the AYLUS association and moved to our respective classrooms. During this time period, we helped the teachers hand out papers, collect homework, write flashcards, chaperone students throughout the building, and more! Completing such tasks allowed the teachers to concentrate on their lessons while also meeting students’ demands, ensuring a productive day!
After our lessons, we celebrated our annual Thanksgiving party! TAs brought students to the Liu College Bookstore to drop them off with their parents and participate in the fun! Parents brought various dishes to share, creating a joyous experience for all.
Overall, it was great to see everyone in such a cheerful mood! We, the TAs, were able to establish stronger relationships with students and alleviate stress from teachers’ schedules. Today’s volunteering opportunity was very fulfilling and a great learning experience; we all look forward to the next event!
