AYLUS Great Neck Branch Tutoring at Station Library 66th (11/4/25)

On November 4, 2025, volunteer members of Aylus gathered at the Great Neck Station Library for their bi-weekly tutoring session. The evening was very productive; the tutors and tutees worked cohesively to make the most of the hour. A plethora of subjects were covered including math, English, history, and geography. For instance, Ivy helped a student learn about the famous Machu Picchu located in Peru. By solving challenging cross puzzles, the student gained a better understanding of the renown mountain peak. Summer also helped her tutee with a social studies topic. Specifically, they collaborated to prepare the tutee for their upcoming test on the Great Migration. Linzi helped a fifth grader complete their math and English homework. The pair read through passages and answered short response questions to enhance reading comprehension. Linzi also worked with a Pre-k tutee; under her guidance, the student successfully could compare quantities. Brian and his 3rd-grade student also solved complicated math problems regarding addition and multiplication. Furthermore, he worked with a 7th grader to review science and math test corrections. Lastly, Junlin worked with a 4th grader to solve arithmetic sequences, and with a 5th grader to solve ratios. Overall the session was a major success thanks to the efforts of volunteers and students.
