On Saturday, October 18, volunteers from the Frisco-Plano branch successfully managed a booth at the 21th Plano International Festival. This event was hosted at Haggard Park Downtown Plano. It provided a valuable opportunity for AYLUS members to engage with the local community, raise funds for a meaningful cause, and promote the mission of the organization.
The day began with volunteers setting up the booth and organizing materials in preparation for the arrival of festival-goers. Despite inclement weather, including periods of rain, the volunteers demonstrated exceptional dedication and resilience.
Key activities at the booth included:
- Jewelry sales (handmade/prepared by volunteers)
- Balloon art for children and families
- Face painting services
All proceeds from the booth will be donated to the Plano Children’s Medical Center, reflecting AYLUS’s ongoing commitment to community service and support for local healthcare institutions.
Throughout the event, AYLUS volunteers not only provided high-quality service and engaged positively with attendees, but also actively promoted the organization’s mission and values. As a result of their efforts, more than six individuals expressed interest in joining AYLUS, marking a successful outreach outcome for the chapter.
The participation of AYLUS Frisco-Plano at the Plano International Festival was a great success. The volunteers showcased teamwork, creativity, and a strong commitment to service—despite the challenges posed by weather. Their contributions helped raise funds for a worthy cause while increasing community awareness of AYLUS and its mission.
