Newtown Members Volunteer at Local Library (19th)

On Saturday, 9/27/2025, members of the Newtown AYLUS Branch volunteered at the Bucks County Free Library – Levittown Branch from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. The library plays an essential role in supporting education and community connection, offering resources and programs for learners of all ages. During this session, volunteers focused on organizing and maintaining the library’s collection of books.

Volunteers worked to return books to their proper places and checked the order of titles on the shelves through shelf reading. These efforts helped ensure that patrons could easily locate the materials they needed, creating a smoother and more enjoyable experience for visitors. By keeping the shelves neat and properly arranged, the volunteers supported children, students, and adults in pursuing their reading interests and educational goals.

In addition, this work provided valuable assistance to library staff, giving them more time to help patrons directly and coordinate library programs. The volunteers’ behind-the-scenes contributions helped keep the library an inviting and reliable community space where people can gather, learn, and explore.

Members who participated were David Soong (event leader, 2 hrs) and Edward Soong (2 hrs).
