This Sunday, AYLUS had the joy of supporting Basking Ridge’s ACEing Autism Tennis Clinic, a program where students with special needs can exercise, play, and connect with others through tennis.
From the moment the students arrived, our volunteers were there to guide, cheer, and encourage. They helped with activities like volleying with a racket and playing “Red Light, Green Light,” patiently demonstrating each step and celebrating every small achievement. Laughter echoed across the courts as students tried new skills, overcame challenges, and shared moments of pride with their peers.
But the true magic of the day went beyond the games. It was in the shy smile that grew into a grin after a successful serve, the high-fives exchanged between volunteers and students, and the quiet moments when someone realized, “I can do this.” By the end of the clinic, students left more confident, volunteers left inspired, and everyone shared in a sense of community, joy, and connection that made the morning unforgettable.
