On September 17th, Newtown AYLUS members Eric Chen and Aaron volunteered at Doylestown Hospital for a three-hour shift. Their primary responsibilities included assisting with patient transport and supporting discharge procedures, ensuring patients were safely and comfortably guided to their destinations. By working alongside hospital staff, they helped ease the workload of nurses and technicians while contributing to the hospital’s smooth daily operations.
This volunteer experience highlighted the importance of compassion and attentiveness when interacting with patients who may feel anxious or uncertain. Eric and Aaron each dedicated 3 hours during this session, totaling 6 combined hours of service. Through their efforts, they not only supported the hospital community but also reinforced Newtown AYLUS’s mission of using service to build stronger connections within the community.
Volunteers: Eric Chen(Event Leader), Aaron Temmer. Each person volunteered for 3 hours.
