Aylus Great Neck Branch Volunteer State Park on 9/13/2025 (47th)

On September 13, 2025, Aylus members volunteered at Bethpage State Park, helping to prepare native wildflower seeds collected from the park’s gardens and packing them into small envelopes. The event ran from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.

At 9:00 AM, volunteers gathered in the greenhouse, where a seed pot was placed on a table. Over 100 varieties of native seeds and grass seeds were mixed together. Some volunteers had been with us before, and they were familiar with the process, placing seeds into small envelopes and sealing them with stickers. The filled envelopes were then collected and stored in a large box. The volunteers packaged a lot of seeds in preparation for the next event. After completing all the seed packaging tasks, they also took photos to record every detail of the day. The volunteers were particularly happy because they had made so many. Looking at these small envelopes, they felt a sense of accomplishment and learned more about plants!!!.
