AYLUS Frisco & Plano Branch Fundraising Event at Frisco Common Park on September 6th, 2025

  • Reported by: Jenny Lin Posted by: Jenny Lin

On September 6th, 2025, 12 AYLUS volunteers set up their stand at Frisco Common park. Volunteers worked in two shifts, each being 2 hours each: the first being from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, and the second 6:00 to 8:00 PM. They sold cotton candy, shaved ice, and iced water. Additionally, AYLUS volunteers took on different roles: cashier, cotton candy maker, shaved ice maker, and advertising team. The advertising team went around the park with samples of the shaved ice. Back at the stand, kids and adults alike enjoyed the sweet treats, especially the shaved ice and iced water in the Texas heat. The stand itself had to be near a pavilion, as there was a plug for the cotton candy and shaved ice machines. In the second shift, another extension cord was added, so that the stand could be moved closer to the playgrounds. All this shifting around was because this is the branch’s first time volunteering in this park in a long time (and all current members haven’t volunteered here before), so it took some getting used to. The many hardworking AYLUS volunteers are looking forward to fundraising here again!
