During the month of August, several RCA members created handmade toys for a local animal shelter. Using old t-shirts and fabrics, they upcycled the materials into durable dog toys. Members carefully cut and braided the fabric, crafting toys to help ease the animals’ boredom. With many shelters urgently calling for fostering and adoption as pets face extended stays, RCA members wanted to offer comfort and enrichment for the animals. At the same time, this project supported environmental sustainability by giving new life to materials that might otherwise end up in landfills.
