On Jul 2nd East Cobb Branch of AYLUS held a tutoring session for the Academic Tutoring Summer Event. Jeffery Kuand tutored one 2nd grade girl.
The East Cobb Branch holds Academic Tutoring Summer Event to give students an opportunity to learn during the summer. The event hopes to create a smooth transition for students rising to another grade level. The tutoring event not only helps make sure students understand previously learned concepts, but also gives students a preview of what they will learn in the next grade. The tutoring event provides students with a tutoring to work on concepts such as math and reading.
This time, the tutor worked with the student on phonics. The tutor worked with the student on concepts such as spelling, dictation, and vowels. The student was able to complete three worksheets during the tutoring session. The student worked diligently on the work. In addition, the tutor discussed the story plot of the assigned reading and worked on reading comprehension.
The tutor felt joyed being able to help the student. The tutor was easily able to connect with the student because of the students outgoing personality. The tutor was glad that the student enjoyed the books that the tutor assigned to the student.
On July 6, the East Cobb Branch of AYLUS held East Cobb Youth Tutoring program at East Cobb Library. A total of 2 students showed up, with 1 tutor, Rima Rami, to help the students.
This time, the tutor taught 2 elementary school students. The tutor worked on a variety of subjects with the students such as math, vocabulary, writing, and alphabet.
The 4th grader was very bright and was able to complete his worksheet without much instruction. The tutor spent most of her time with the kindergartener on forming letters and word meanings. The kindergartener learnt tricks to scribing every letter, and she was able to pick up each shape and curve easily.
