Event 68: AYLUS Morris Branch Partners with GRACE to Provide Essential Supplies and Fall Clothing for Community Members in Need in August 2025

On the afternoon of August 27 at 5:00 p.m., members of the AYLUS Morris Branch partnered with a local community center GRACE (Giving and Receiving Assistance for our Community’s Essentials), a nonprofit dedicated to supporting families and individuals in need, to complete a successful donation drive. This initiative focused on collecting adult incontinence supplies and fall clothing, both of which are essential items that often go overlooked but play a critical role in helping vulnerable populations maintain dignity and comfort.

AYLUS Morris Branch volunteers organized the collection by reaching out to local clubs, community organizations, and neighborhood residents. Through these efforts, they gathered an impressive 120 packages of adult incontinence supplies and 100 pieces of gently used fall clothing. These donations were carefully sorted, packed, and delivered to the GRACE local site, where they will be distributed to families, seniors, and individuals in shelters who rely on the nonprofit’s support.

The project highlighted the importance of collaboration between youth-led organizations and local nonprofits. By working with GRACE, AYLUS members not only contributed to addressing immediate community needs but also gained valuable experience in leadership, coordination, and outreach. Volunteers worked together throughout the process—promoting the drive, coordinating drop-off points, and ensuring the safe delivery of all collected items.

For the AYLUS Morris Branch, this effort was more than just a donation drive. It reflected the group’s ongoing commitment to making a meaningful difference through service projects that respond to real needs in the community. The successful collection underscored how small contributions from many individuals can come together to create a significant impact. As the supplies and clothing are distributed, both AYLUS and GRACE can take pride in knowing that their partnership has provided comfort, warmth, and support to those who need it most.
