Newtown Members Volunteer at Local Library (15th)

On Saturday, 8/16/2025, members of the Newtown AYLUS Branch volunteered at the Bucks County Free Library – Levittown Branch from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM. The Bucks County Free Library is a community resource that provides books, learning opportunities, and safe spaces for families and individuals. During this session, members focused on organizing and cleaning the toys in the children’s section of the library.

The volunteers dedicated their efforts to arranging and tidying up the toys used by young visitors, ensuring the play area was neat, inviting, and ready for continued use. A well-maintained children’s section creates a welcoming atmosphere that encourages families to bring their children to the library, supports early childhood development, and fosters curiosity through both play and reading. Their work also relieved staff of these time-consuming tasks, allowing them to dedicate more attention to assisting patrons and running library programs. By creating a clean and organized space, the volunteers contributed to making the library an enjoyable environment for all members of the community.

Members who participated were David Soong (event leader, 2 hours) and Edward Soong (2 hours).
