On August 14th from 6pm to 7pm, the Great Neck AYLUS Branch held a tutoring session at the Station Library. Brian and Baiyu taught math concepts like algebra and PEMDAS to kids while Linzi, Yucheng and Rebecca also assisted in providing a fun environment to teach kids new topics in English and math. Volunteers used creative methods—such as visualizations, examples, and working through questions with students—to help them grasp the concept and inspire engagement in learning. The goal for these AYLUS volunteers was to make the learning experience more enjoyable as well as benefitting students with their educational studies and skills. During the tutoring session, all volunteers worked diligently and productively to ensure that all students benefited from the event. The Great Neck AYLUS branch remains committed to helping kids become more confident and familiar with educational concepts.
