AYLUS Great Neck Branch helps set up at Michael J. Tully Park (morning) 8/18/25

On Monday, August 18th, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, Jiangyuan Yu and Catherine Tao went to Michael J. Tully Park to help set up booths and tents.

Today we worked with native workers in the park to help them prepare for the Italian Festival. They taught us many practicable skills that seem to be easy but hard to put into practice, such as how to use drills, hammers and wrenches. Our main mission today is to stable tents by filling buckets with water which were underneath tents. During this process, there were some problems that confused us. We worked together and eventually solved them. It was a valuable experience to volunteer here: we learned important lifeskills, and something more precious is cooperation with each other. We hope we offered effective help to the park.
