On Saturday, 8/2/2025, members from the Newtown AYLUS Branch dedicated their time from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM, volunteering at the local library (7311 New Falls Rd, Levittown, PA 19055). The library provides resources, books, and community programs for people of all ages, and the volunteers assisted staff with organization and upkeep.
Members focused on shelving returned books from the carts, carefully sorting and placing each one in its proper location so patrons could find materials without delay. They also helped straighten and organize various sections of the library, making sure displays and shelves stayed tidy. While the workload was lighter than on busy days, their assistance prevented small tasks from building up and reduced the follow-up work for librarians. This allowed the staff to stay on top of operations and devote more attention to other responsibilities, keeping the library running efficiently throughout the afternoon.
Members who participated were David Soong (Event leader) and Edward Soong. Each volunteered for 2.0 hours.
