On 8/6/25, volunteers from the Newtown AYLUS branch participated in a hospital support event at Doylestown Hospital, where they aided staff by transporting patients throughout the facility. Their responsibilities included safely escorting discharged patients out of the hospital and moving others between departments for tests, procedures, or room changes.
This hands-on experience gave volunteers valuable exposure to the healthcare environment and allowed them to develop essential skills in teamwork, communication, and patient interaction. The activity also offered insight into the importance of behind-the-scenes roles in a hospital and how they contribute to overall patient care.
Newtown AYLUS is proud to support healthcare professionals and provide compassionate assistance to patients during their recovery journeys.
Volunteers: Eric Chen (Event Leader), and Aaron Temmer. Each person volunteered for 3 hours.
