Newtown AYLUS Branch Volunteers at Local Park’s Adopt-a-Trail Program

On July 27, 2025, Newtown AYLUS members helped support the local community by volunteering at Tyler State Park in Bucks County, PA. Tyler State Park contains over one thousand acres of park roads and trails along with a community theater, an art center, and more. Newtown AYLUS helped clean up the trails of this important park, helping make it more enjoyable for everyone.

Members helped clear park trails by trimming overgrown plants and bushes that obstructed paths. They also trimmed plants that were dangerous or thorny, which could pose a threat to hikers. In the time spent, volunteers were able to clear around half of the trail, making it safer and cleaner for everyone. Volunteers also helped remove invasive species, supporting the ecosystem and ensuring that local species thrive.

Overall, members were happy and dedicated to making the park a better place. The trail had been improved, and volunteers felt fulfilled in being able to support the local community.

Members who participated were Ivan Lee (Event Leader), Eric Chen, Zhiheng Wang, Albert Chen, Kylee Guo, Daniel Tang, Randall Zhang, Aaron Temmer, and Aiden Ye. Each volunteer contributed 1.5 hours.
