AYLUS Roslyn Volunteers at the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County’s Group Home (50th) on July 26th, 2025

On Saturday, July 26th , members of AYLUS Roslyn visited the CP Nassau residents at a residential home located at Washington Avenue

At the start, the residents and the volunteers did arts and crafts, and drew drawings on paddles with various colorful designs. This made the residents very happy, so we kept doing it for half an hour. Since the weather was nice that day, the volunteers took the residents for a stroll at the nearby park. After that, we began making pizzas. We started by kneading dough, and then we put sauce and cheese on the dough. We let the pizzas cook, and during that time, we pieced together some puzzles with the residents. Volunteering at CP Nassau continues to be a rewarding experience for us. It allows us to connect with individuals with disabilities, offering companionship and support while also encouraging patience, empathy, and teamwork.

We look forward to our next visit and another opportunity to bring smiles to the residents of CP Nassau!
