On Wednesday, July 2, 2025, members from the Newtown AYLUS Branch dedicated their time from 7:45 AM to 11:45 AM volunteering at the FabLab Center (One Ivybrook Blvd. Ste 190, Warminster, PA), providing support to both teachers and students to ensure the day’s events ran smoothly. FabLab is a STEAM learning center where children and youth of all ages are able to explore various technologies and skills related to science, engineering, art, and math.
Two members helped around 25 students with multiple activities during their time there. In addition to assisting students, volunteers also completed many tasks to help the teachers. This included organizing supplies such as sorting colored markers and sharpies, charging and collecting computers and ipads used by the students, and maintaining a tidy materials station. Volunteers actively moved around the space, offering help wherever it was needed.
The event was very successful, as students were happy with their creations and felt that they had learned a lot. At the end of the event, volunteers helped instructors clean up the classroom by organizing teaching materials, putting away chairs and tables, and making sure the space was clean and orderly before leaving.
Members who participated were Daniel Tang (Event Leader) and Ryan He, both for 4 hours.
