On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, members from the Newtown AYLUS Branch dedicated their time from 7:45 AM to 11:45 AM volunteering at the FabLab Center (One Ivybrook Blvd. Ste 190, Warminster, PA). FabLab is a STEAM learning center where children and youth of all ages are able to explore various technologies and skills related to science, engineering, art, and math.
Two members helped around 25 students with multiple activities during their time there. They helped teach and assist students in creating 3-D printed keychains using Tinkercad, a 3-D modeling software, fostering students’ interest in STEAM with a fun and creative activity. Volunteers helped students struggling with any problems and began printing them out for the students. In addition, our volunteers helped set up technology for the students to use during their exploration period.
The event was very successful, as students were happy with their creations and felt that they had learned a lot. Volunteers were always there to answer questions and aid the students. Members also helped clean and set up for the second half of the day before leaving.
Members who participated were Ivan Lee (Event Leader) and Daniel Tang, both for 4 hours.
