The East Cobb Branch holds Academic Tutoring Summer Event to give students an opportunity to learn during the summer. The event hopes to create a smooth transition for students rising to another grade level. The tutoring event not only helps make sure students understand previously learned concepts, but also gives students a preview of what they will learn in the next grade. The tutoring event provides students with a tutoring to work on concepts such as math and reading.
This time, one tutor worked with the student on phonics. The tutor worked with the student on concepts such as spelling, dictation, and vowels. The student was able to complete three worksheets during the tutoring session. The student worked diligently on the work. In addition, the tutor discussed the story plot of the assigned reading and worked on reading comprehension. The other tutor taught Math to an elementary student.
The tutors felt joyed being able to help the student. The tutors was easily able to connect with the students because of the students outgoing personality. The tutors were glad that the students enjoyed the books that the tutors assigned to the students.
