AYLUS Roslyn Provides Food to Local Families Through NOSH Delivers! Food Pantry (73rd) on June 16th, 2025

On Monday, June 16th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., volunteers from the Roslyn Branch of AYLUS joined NOSH Delivers! to support their ongoing efforts in addressing food insecurity within the community. During this service event, volunteers focused on sorting food donations and packing delivery bags to be sent out later in the week.

Upon arrival, volunteers helped sort through newly received produce, including a variety of fresh vegetables and fruits such as lettuce, carrots, tomatoes, apples, bananas, and potatoes. These items were carefully inspected for quality, organized by type, and stored properly to maintain freshness for distribution.

Once sorted, the team moved on to packing NOSH delivery bags, each containing a balanced selection of fresh produce along with staple food items. Over 180 bags were prepared during the session, ensuring that local families would receive essential supplies delivered right to their doorsteps.

Volunteers demonstrated strong teamwork, assisting one another in lifting heavy boxes, streamlining the packing process, and organizing materials for smooth workflow. Safety was prioritized throughout the day, with gloves worn while handling food, proper lifting techniques used for heavy items, and clear communication to avoid crowding in tight spaces.

We are proud of the effort, care, and responsibility shown by the volunteers. Their dedication helps NOSH Delivers! continue to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families in need. The Roslyn Branch of AYLUS looks forward to returning to serve again in the near future.
