On June 1, 2025, youth volunteers from Pearland joined the SMILE bucket drumming team in a special charity concert featuring the renowned Polar-Light Percussion Team. With a 20-year history, Polar-Light, from Taiwan, is composed of talented performers with special needs and has become a symbol of perseverance and inclusion in the arts.
The SMILE team and volunteers performed “Happy” together, using bucket drums to showcase the power of music in bringing people together. This joyful performance highlighted the ongoing efforts of local youth to promote inclusivity and support individuals with special needs through creative expression.
