Greater Princeton AYLUS Performed “Youth Tutoring” Service on May 31, June 16 and 21, 2019

Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA) team performed more “Youth Tutoring” service in June, 2019.

Angelina Yingying Liu continued introducing more English words into her students’ vocabulary, mostly through reading and then translating English picture books the twin girls selected.

On May 31, 2019 (1 hour), Angelina read several English books with her students, mostly by asking them interactive questions and translating many English terms. She kept the experience interactive by asking them questions relating to their own experiences.

On June 21, 2019 (1 hour), Angelina started working on the alphabet with the twins, and they began learning how to say and write the letters up to G. Apparently, the two girls like their teacher, enjoying  the process of integrating English into their vocabulary.

On June 16, 2019 (1 hour), Amber Yu provided “Youth Tutoring” service for a six-grade student in the Plainsboro Public Library . They continued to work on the math problems and English language, helping him study vocabulary, read a passage and answer questions, and write a short essay. Since last September, the tutoring classes have been helpful and the student has made a lot of progress. He was able to stay on task longer, learn new vocabularies and use them in his writing assignments. They both enjoyed the class.
