AYLUS Great Neck Branch AAPI 19th at Main library on 4/27/2025

On Sunday April 27 from 1:45 to 3:00 PM, the Great Neck AYLUS branch hosted an AAPI event at the Great Neck Main Library. The event started with Goldman reading “Say My Name” to the kids and followed by Irena reading “Punky Aloha”. Next, Rebecca, Andrew, Goldman, and Irena helped teach a large group of kids how to create butterflies, fortune tellers and Airplanes out of Origami. Rainie helped out at the crochet area where she showed kids how to create tiny octopuses, hearts, and basic chain stitch for beginners. Baiyu taught other kids how to make hearts, crowns and other objects out of origami as well. Rebecca made flowers out of pipecleaners for the kids. Overall, this experience has proven to be a fun and entertaining event for volunteers and children. Everyone had fun and we thank everyone who joined us for this event.
