On March 22nd, 2025, Murrieta AYLUS members helped at the STAT horse sanctuary.
After arriving, the volunteers got to work cleaning out the stalls. Sifting through the dirt and mud to shovel all the waste and scoop it into wheelbarrows, the volunteers took turns dumping out the contents into the larger pile. On their way through the stalls, they met a young stallion who was still young and who was extremely playful. After cleaning up all the stalls, they learned how to properly brush the fur and hair of a horse and gently cleaned on of the older horses. Afterwards, the volunteers took carrots and fed the animals before saying goodbye to all the horses.
