AYLUS Basking Ridge volunteered at PEC Hiking with Autism program on 3/15/25. Our volunteers met with families who participated in the program at Pleasant Vally Park, address: 3405 Valley Rd, Basking Ridge, NJ. We introduced our program and ourselves to the group and were paired with the participants. We stayed with them, made sure they were safe and encourage them to finish the hike. The hike took about 2 and half hours in the park. We helped them with a savanger hunt and talked about the the nature we saw in the park. We got lost a couple of times, but found our way back together safely. After the hike, some of our volunteers stayed in the playground and played with the kids, some of our volunteers brought the participants to the snack center to get snack and water. It was a very successful event.
