In preparation for the Pearland Lunar New Year Festival on February 16, AYLUS volunteers
conducted a final training and rehearsal session on February 15 to ensure a seamless event.
Derek and Edwin, along with Gavin and Christy, were selected as event hosts and start drafting
script since February 14. Under the guidance of Derek and Edwin, the team rehearsed their
script, practiced stage presence, and coordinated smooth transitions between performances. The
preparation focused on ensuring all hosts were confident in engaging with the audience and
maintaining the festival’s flow.
On February 16, the event successfully welcomed 2,000 guests, who enjoyed a series of vibrant
performances, including a lion dance, traditional music, and cultural showcases. Derek, Edwin,
Gavin, and Christy worked together as hosts, ensuring each performance was introduced
smoothly and keeping the audience engaged throughout the celebration. Their preparation and
teamwork contributed to the success of the event, fostering cultural appreciation and bringing the
community together for a memorable Lunar New Year celebration.
