On May 11th, as part of ongoing “Conservation” project, Greater Princeton AYLUS (GPA) supported Thompson Park Spring Spruce Up Event in Monroe Township, New Jersey, with projects of weeding its rain garden and shoreline plantings, repairing a fence around its restoration sites, conducting litter patrols, and working on the nearby trail systems.
All together 28 people from GPA participated this Spring Spruce Up event as a group. They wear boots or shoes that can get wet. Gloves were provided while some of the GPA members felt free to bring their own. They met at the Thompson Park at Thompson Drive and Lakeview Avenue, Monroe Township, NJ 08831 at 8:30 am and met with the Youth Corps Coordinator Griffith Boyd, then headed out to the rain garden for the 3 hours conservation event with the Middlesex and Union County Environmental and Resource Management Agent Michele Bakacs. By 11:30 am, the restored rain garden looked much better than before!
