AYLUS North Hollywood Volunteers for a Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Los Angeles | January 25, 2025

Activity & Impact

On January 25th, 2025, four members of the AYLUS North Hollywood branch volunteered with a Habitat LA ReStore from 10am-2pm. ReStore is a non-profit that was established as a self-sustaining funding source for Habitat LA. The goal is to provide the local community with low-cost building and home improvement materials. Their stores are stocked by furniture and other miscellaneous items from larger retail stores and companies, all of which have been priced at least 50% of retail value. Habitat for Humanity’s mission is to end substandard housing worldwide.

During the event, our volunteers cleared large portions of items that were no longer needed out front and packaged them into boxes. The services of our volunteers saved employees at the store a lot of time and effort. This was essential because 85% of the labor at Habitat LA is done through volunteers, which allows them to keep their costs low.
