AYLUS Great Neck Branch Held Another AAPI Event at the Parkville Library on 1/25/2025

On Saturday, January 25th, from 2:00 to 3:00 the Aylus Great Neck Branch held another AAPI event honoring the coming of Chinese Lunar New Year and other AAPI themed activities at the Parkville Library. On that day, there were many children who showed up. Volunteers engaged them through a series of fun activities. We started off first with book reading. Enrico and Tiffany both read books. After that, Rebecca and Zoe led children in decorating plates with stickers to make them look like animals. We also attempted to make paper cranes and butterflies out of origami. Tiffany helped teach many people how to crochet. A wide variety ranged from crocheting basic chains to elaborate designs such as pouches and flowers. Enrico also participated in crocheting as well. Overall, the volunteers were able to inform students through a wide variety of cultures and traditions. Everyone had fun and we thank everyone who joined us for this event!
