On January 19th, 2025, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, members of the AYLUS Bellaire branch volunteered at the Houston Food Bank.
Volunteers worked in the carousel area of the Houston Food Bank and were assigned to first sort. Volunteers sifted through donations and tossed out products that were expired or opened. Donations were then sorted into categories such as dry groceries/snacks and condiments/drinks before being sent to second sort for more specific categories.
In total, the volunteers sorted and packaged 14 pallets, equivalent to 17,769 pounds of product and 14,808 meals, during this shift.
