On Thursday, January 16, 2025, CP Nassau came to the Roslyn Branch of AYLUS to pick up gathered clothing. CP Nassau (Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County) is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to providing quality services for children and adults with cerebral palsy.
Since the New Year, 24 members from the Roslyn AYLUS branch stepped forward to help with the clothing drive. For a week, 24 Roslyn AYLUS branch members gathered winter clothing from friends and family. These 24 volunteers donated their warm clothes to people in need. These members helped pack and give a hefty amount of clothes. On January 16, 4 members helped move these clothes in the freezing cold weather in order for CP Nassau to pick them up. These clothes make a large impact and makes sure the recipients stay warm in such a harsh winter. This was challenging due to the fact that on the day that we moved the clothes, it was freezing cold. We went home cold, but in great spirit, due to the fact that we knew we helped people that need clothing.
