The Heart Pillow is a post-surgical operation support pillow for heart surgeries and/or other surgeries. It is heart-shaped and covered in flannel fabric. It is stuffed with fiberfill (stuffing) to allow the pillow to adjust to each patient’s comfort needs, while still maintaining the needed support required.
The volunteers need go shopping and purchase cloth, ribbon, and stuffing with their own money. The members can make full use of their sparse time at home during weekday and weekend to make heart pillows at home.
During fall break, Phoenix AYLUS members made heart pillows at home for the patients.
Michael Duan: 17 pillows, total 34 hours; Sophia Chen: 13 pillows, total 26 hours.
