AYLUS Great Neck participated in Volunteer Activities at the Farmers Market at Firefighter’s park on 12/07/2024

On December 7, 2024, from 4 PM to 8PM, the volunteers of AYLUS Great Neck Branch went to the Firefighter’s Park to participate in the Farmers market happening there with the intention to raise around 300 dollars for AYLUS Great Neck Park District related activities. The Farmers Market starts at 4 pm, but volunteers Kevin and Carrie arrived earlier and left later to set up and takedown the tables. Our shop sold homemade trinkets such as bracelets and crochet bags but also sold some donated items such as food (cookies) and accessorized winter wear. All the items were made by students and helped us mitigate cost and maximize the money raised. Not only did we sell handmade items, but we also ran a successful face painting service as well. This time we raised just under $300, barely missing our goals. To help and try to reach our goal, volunteers Sabrina, Crystal, and Carrie showed great initiative by going out and selling cookies for $2 each to passersby. Overall, while we did underperform, we did really well and will be implementing lessons we learned such as product demands and taking initiative in our next fundraising.
