San Diego Branch hosted a Holiday Food Drive from November 6-25, 2024

Reported by Andrew Zhou

This holiday season, many of us will gather with friends and family to enjoy warm meals and the spirit of giving. But for thousands in our community, the holidays are a time of hunger and uncertainty.

Together, we can change that. Established in 1981, the Food Bank’s annual Holiday Food Drive brings in more than 2 million pounds of food, on average, every holiday season. It takes a community to feed a community.

Our AYLUS San Diego branch helped the San Diego Food Bank this holiday season to feed our neighbors in need. From Nov. 6 to Nov. 25, we collected a large barrel of food, including foods like cereal, oatmeal, instant noodles, instant Macaroni, as well as canned tuna, chicken and vegetables. On November 26, we donated 108 food items to the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank.

The following  AYLUS members participated in the event:

Andrew Zhou ( 2 volunteer service hours, including delivery)

The following 20 AYLUS members each got 1.5 service hour:
