AYLUS Roslyn Supports CP Nassau 5K Fundraiser Walk for Individuals with Disabilities (2nd) on November 17th, 2024

On November 17th of 2024, the Roslyn AYLUS branch supported the Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County with their annual 5k fundraiser from 8:00 to 10:30 A.M. This is an annual fundraiser that supports the CPNassau’s various programs such as their day program for adults, schools, and equipment. CPNassau enhances the lives of so many children and adults with movement and speech disabilities for more than 75 years.

Cerebral Palsy is a disability that affects people’s movement and speech. Our main goal of this event was to support and encourage the various groups, individuals, and who participated in the fundraiser. Whether people ran, walked, or pushed strollers, we encouraged them to keep running. We cheered them on from many points in the race from start to finish. At the end, we handed out water bottles, medals, and apples to the finishers.

This was a great experience for all of us, as we supported the participants of the fundraiser. Usually, we do the volunteering at the residential homes where we spend time with residents and hope to make an impact in their lives. This fundraiser however, is another special way to show our support. We are always happy to show our support and we can’t wait for our next event!
