On November 9th, 2024, AYLUS Frisco & Plano branch volunteers ran a three-part stand during the John and Judy Gay Library’s Fall Y’all event. Before the event began, event leaders helped set up a pavilion and other necessary equipment. During the festival, members were divided into three groups: face painting, balloon animals, and selling bracelets/rings/crochet animals. Our face painting team worked to help fund the African Library Project, with a minimum of five dollars donated per face painting. Volunteers who were tasked with making balloon art worked without charge to directly support our own community, while members running the vending stands helped promote the AYLUS organization. Our stand drew large attention during the event, so each and every one of our members worked diligently during the volunteering period.
