Halloween Celebration at Great Neck Ice Rink
On October 27, 2024, from 3PM to 5PM, AYLUS Great Neck branch volunteers participant the Halloween Celebration at the Great Neck Ice Rink, brought together community members and families for an afternoon filled with fun, treats, and seasonal festivities. This event, hosted by the Great Neck Park District, was designed to spread Halloween joy to local children through a candy giveaway and on-ice parade. Volunteers played an essential role in the event, supporting various tasks to ensure it ran smoothly and created a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Our team of volunteers was split into two groups to cover key areas of the event. The first group, consisting of two volunteers, managed the candy distribution at the cashier counter, where they handed out treats to children and engaged with families to make their Halloween experience enjoyable. The second group, made up of three volunteers, assisted in the skate rental and return area. They ensured children received the correct skates and provided a warm and welcoming environment, making it easier for families to enjoy their time on the ice. Throughout the event, our volunteers focused on creating a friendly and supportive atmosphere, helping both kids and their families feel valued and included.
The event was a success, achieving its goal of spreading joy to the community. Families appreciated the thoughtful interactions, and the Great Neck Park District staff expressed gratitude for our volunteers’ dedication and positive impact on the event. With the help of our team, the Halloween celebration ran seamlessly, providing a fun and memorable experience for all attendees.
