For the event, we set up a table to raise funds in memory of Amy, the head of the farmers market. We are incredibly grateful to her for giving AYLUS the opportunity to participate in the farmers market, allowing the new generation to engage with the community and contribute to its development. All donations will go to the farmers market and Amy’s family, with volunteers contributing from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM.
Some volunteers arrived early to set up the booth, which featured handcrafted items such as bracelets, free books, upcoming free Halloween costumes, Lego creations, crocheted pieces, and paper flowers made by our members to create a welcoming atmosphere. We also set up a Lego table for children to play with, allowing them to build their own creations to take home.
On the 27th, it was a very cold day, and attendance was low. However, our volunteers continued to work hard, making it a valuable experience overall. Before the farmers market ended, the volunteers wrote a card, placed all the sales and the card in an envelope, and asked the site manager to deliver it to Amy’s family, along with the Lego vase and paper flowers made by Adena. They expressed their sadness over Amy’s passing and extended their condolences to her family. May she rest in peace.
