STEM n Tech (#34): Pearland Branch Volunteers Provided Web Site Development and Maintenance Services to Partners (#4) in October 2024

Since July 2024, AYLUS Pearland has been assisting Project Rise and Shine (PRS) partners in developing and maintaining a couple of responsive and engaging websites to help users learn about partners’ organizations, missions, programs, news, and events. Volunteers Andy Shi, Aila Jiang, Katherine Wu, Jonathan Niu, and Matthew Niu began working on this project in July 2024. Daniel Zhang joined the team this month.

Websites have been up and running since September. The team’s current focus is on enhancing functionality, maintenance, and bug fixes. Aila provided more pictures and videos and wrote some web text content. Mathew and Jonathan wrote a couple of feature stories and did the QA of website implementation. Andy integrated the new content into websites, fixed several bugs, extracted tags for event reports, and added new items into databases.  Daniel Zhang helped to sync the data between different database tables. Katherine did the comprehensive testing to ensure the website’s performance.
