On Sunday October 27, the Great Neck Branch of AYLUS volunteered to help the Great Neck Park District run its Bond Street Halloween Festival from 12-2 pm. This event is organized every year with many fun activities for kids including bouncy houses, amusement rides, arts and crafts, and more. In particular, the volunteers today helped to set up and organize the window painting event. Bond Street has many stores with large windows, and kids that signed up were allowed to paint on them. Volunteers got there early to mark the correct windows with tape. Then, once families started to arrive, they helped to distribute paint and to check them in. Afterwards, a bubble tea store in Great Neck, YAAAS TEA, offered volunteers a chance to paint on their windows, and help to distribute cookies. Overall, it was a very fun event, with a really nice Halloween spirit.
