On October 26, 2024, Aylus Murrieta members gathered once again to carry out their weekly garden tasks. With a sense of excitement and curiosity, they checked on the sprouts they had transplanted just a week earlier, eager to see how the young plants were adapting to their new home. As they carefully examined the garden beds, the group shared in the joy of seeing the first signs of growth. Each member took time to tend to the plants, watering and adjusting the soil with care. In addition to nurturing the young sprouts, the group harvested a bountiful crop of peppers, their vibrant colors a testament to the hard work and dedication put into the garden. The fresh peppers were then sent to the residents’ kitchen, where they would soon become part of a home-cooked meal, connecting the fruits of their labor to the community they were serving.
