On 10/07/2024, AYLUS Great Neck hosted another tutoring session for our local students. We met at the Great Neck Station Library at around 6:00 PM.
We had many students and tutors come to this event. Xingzhi Li taught algebra and geometry to his student, while Kylie Lam taught basic grammar and helped her student work through algebra problems. Sophia Li took on two students at once; she helped one second grade student read books and learn English, while she helped another third grade student read a book and do their math and English homework. Finally, Ruiqi Liu helped a newly arrived student learn English while studying math.
We tutored for about an hour, after which we said our goodbyes and left. In our time together, everyone learnt something new!

On 10/8/2024, the Great Neck AYLUS branch hosted another tutoring session at the Great Neck Station Library from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Sophia volunteered to help a third grader to complete his English and math homework involving reading comprehension and addition. Upon completing his homework early, Sophia and him read an assigned book. Sophia continuously asked questions to test and improve the student’s comprehension. Sophia also helped a student who was learning English read a book, explaining the meaning of new words and helping with pronunciation. Meixin and Summer worked on math problems with an elementary student. Xingzhi helped another student with his homework. Overall, it was another very productive tutoring session.
