AYLUS Roslyn Helps The Cerebral Palsy Association of Nassau County at the Bayville Care Center (9th) on October 13th, 2024

On Sunday, October 13th of 2024, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm EST, 5 members of the AYLUS Roslyn branch visited C.P. Nassau residents at its Bayville location. C.P. Nassau has been supporting many individuals with disabilities for over 75 years. Its Bayville location is a care facility, currently serving approximately 47 patients at the site.

AYLUS Roslyn branch has been consistently visiting C.P. Nassau Bayville monthly. The reoccurring visits have set up a friendship bond between the residents and the attended AYLUS Roslyn members. Every time AYLUS visits, it brings smiles from the CP Nassau Bayville residents. Similar heartwarming feelings are shown by the attending AYLUS members.

At today’s visit, the Bayville facility appears yet to find a recreational therapist, who can lead the services, after the resignation of their previous one. However, learning from their previous services, AYLUS attended members managed to arrange the fun-filled activities, summarized as follows, without the lead of Bayville recreational therapists at the site.

Art and Crafts: Halloween theme, bowling, Connect 4 and Wii games, and even a special group birthday song to a resident who is having her 44-year birthday today! We were happy that, with our team efforts, the residents were having fun with us and each other like a friend gathering. Overall, this experience improved our leadership and planning skills. And most important of all, all the efforts are well paid off by the smiles on each of the Bayville residents. We are looking forward to next month’s visit.
