Greater Triangle Branch hosted a Hurricane Relief Donation Drive this week from Sun.(10/6) to Fri.(10/11) – Part 1

Hurricane Helene caused significant destruction, resulting in multiple fatalities and widespread power outages across several southeastern states, including North Carolina. This storm is one of the deadliest hurricanes to hit the US mainland in the last 50 years; hundreds of people remain unaccounted for as search-and-rescue efforts continue.
After seeing how the people who live in the affected area are struggling with food, water, and almost everything, the members of Aylus Greater Triangle started a Hurricane Relief Donation Drive. They collected donations in their neighborhood from Sunday (10/6)to Tuesday(10/8) during the after-school time.

Taige designed a poster for the Drive, delivered them to his neighborhood door-by-door, and set up a donation stand in his community to receive the donations from his neighbors. Alex spread the donation information through social media. He scheduled with the donors to pick up the donations from their houses or waited on the porch to take the drop-off donations.

This was the first move of our donation week. We will hold another group donation by the end of the week to get more members involved.

Volunteers:

1 Taige Shi       4 h (three days in total)

2 Alex Liu         3 h (three days in total)
